All roads lead to Busika sports Arena this Friday for the biggest rally event on the FMU calendar “The Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda rally.”
The rally will be flagged off tomorrow 16th September at Silva spring Hotel and will run through to 17th.
The event starts with an exhibition stage at the Busika Sports Arena on Friday before heading for competitive sections in Mubende the following day. Drivers will tackle a total of 522km, of which only 232.76km will be competitive.
The Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally is one of the eight rounds of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) sanctioned African Rally Championship.
Scrutineering is underway at Panamera, where all vehicles will be checked for complete compliance with technical and safety rules.
Shell V-Power sponsored Ronald Ssebuguzi and Shell Helix sponsored Arthur Blick Jnr are ready to give foreign drivers a run for their money.
As the drivers hit the road on Friday, Vivo Energy cautions the public to watch out on safety as they enjoy the rally. Vivo Energy M.D Hans Paulsen has urged the organizers to put in place safety measures that will enable both participants and spectators have a nice event.
In a bid to ensure a safe rally, FMU has deployed 2 helicopters addition of 5 ambulances.
