So Sure, a social enterprise that produces reusable sanitary pads has Monday launched a campaign in which it is to reward its customers.
During the launch of ‘Chakala Back-to-School campaign’ held at the headquarters of AfRIpads in Naguru, it was revealed that lucky customers will be rewarded with prizes worth over Shs25,000,000.
“We believe that every child has a right to education and lack of proper menstrual hygiene solutions should not be a barrier,” said Bruce Muhame, the Head of Sales and Marketing at So Sure.
In East Africa, a typical girl misses up to 50 days of school in a year, that is approximately 20% of the academic year.
“Therefore, we designed the Chakala Back-to-School campaign which is in line with our values of providing quality menstrual solutions to enable girls to reach their full potential.”
In the campaign, So Sure’s rewards will come in form of school fees, back-to-school hampers, shopping vouchers, and other scholastic materials.
Addition to the prizes is, the reward is far more than the cash prize, because So Sure reusable sanitary pads reduces the cost for sanitary pads for the year therefore lessening the pecuniary burden on parents and the overall health of the girl-child is safeguarded from harmful chemicals in disposable pads.
“As a social Enterprise, health and education of girls as well as the empowerment of women is close to our hearts, therefore the Chakala ne So Sure Back-to-School campaign is about more than prizes and rewards but the greater social impact that is two-fold namely; in providing and encouraging women to use safe and reusable menstrual solutions as well as pursuing education to reach their potential,” said Muhame.
