The Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang18 are here. Get to watch Nigeria’s break-out bobsled team, Kenya’s alpine skiing champ and Ghana’s skeleton athlete compete for gold. From Friday 9 February to Sunday 25 February, Kwesé TV will deliver all the live action from PyeongChang straight to your living room, on a special dedicated channel Olympics HD channel 306.
These winter games are marked by a series of firsts for the continent. East Africa will be represented by Sabrina Simader, who will become the first female and alpine skier to compete for Kenya at the Winter Olympics. Similarly Nigeria will make its debut at the Winter Olympic Games with an all-female contingent comprised of skeleton athlete Simidele Adeagbo and bobsleigh team Seun Adigun, Ngozi Onwumere and Akuoma Omeoga.
Also representing the continent will be Ghanaian skeleton athlete Akwasi Frimpong. Frimpong will be the only African man competing in the PyeongChang18 games, he is also Ghana’s second-ever winter Olympian.
