Young participants between the ages of 7 and 12 years are set to take part in the upcoming swimming gala at GEMS International School and DStv has come in to provide sponsorship worth over UGX 15 million for the exciting event organized by Dolphins Swim Club Kampala.
Phoebe Nakabazzi, Marketing Manager of DStv Uganda said, ‘Swimming is an amazing sport. Through the Uganda Swimming Federation, children are being given an opportunity to develop their swimming skills on an international, national and regional level; we are glad to be a part of that development for the future generation of Uganda. Our sponsorship will cover the trophies, certificates for the winners and collateral material for the gala officials’.
Dolphins Swimming Club is affiliated to the Uganda Swimming Federation, a federation that is providing children with an opportunity to discover and develop their full potential in swimming through different international, national and regional swimming competitions.
The funding by DStv for the swimming competition goes in line with our need to see people in the community embrace sports, not only football but also other sports disciplines.
Nakabazzi added, “Our Sports channels inspire young talent in different fields ranging from football, swimming, basketball, rugby to aspire for greatness and unveil their potential. We hope taking part in this swimming gala, the children will be motivated to reach greatness.”
DStv endeavors to demonstrate to communities its commitment in the growth and development to grow the community, socially, economically and physically. DStv also seeks to be pillar for the young generation and encourage them to aspire and believe in their dreams.
