Brainchild Burson-Marsteller, Uganda’s most awarded public relations, digital and experiential agency, announced a change in policy regarding its participation at national and international industry awards. This comes on the back of 13 accolades which the agency has won at different excellence awards, over the past eight years.
“We are grateful for the remarkable recognition we have received at different awards in Uganda and Africa. Against this background, today, we are pleased to embrace a new policy that will reinforce our competitiveness at prestigious industry awards,” Mr. Walter Wafula, the Business Unit Head-PR, brainchild Burson-Marsteller, said in Kampala.
“As part of the change, brainchild Burson-Marsteller will participate at national and international industry awards every other year instead of annually, as has been our tradition. The new policy will also allow us time to deliver more outstanding crisis communication and reputation management campaigns for our clients,” Wafula explained.
Brainchild Burson-Marsteller was the first and only Ugandan agency to be named among the winners at inaugural SABRE Awards Africa which were held in Morocco in May, as part of the African Public Relations Association’s annual conference, 2017. Up to 24 Public Relations agencies in Africa were recognized at the 2017 SABRE Awards Africa. Kenya-based Engage Burson-Marsteller, which is part of the Burson-Marsteller Africa network and Tell-Em Public Relations East Africa, were the other East African agencies to be recognised at the awards.
The SABRE Awards celebrate Superior Achievement in Branding, Reputation & Engagement, with separate competitions in North America, EMEA, the Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and South Asia. The winners from these regional competitions are eligible for the Global SABRE Awards, which recognize the best PR campaigns from more than 5,000 entries around the world.
In 2016, brainchild Burson-Marsteller was the biggest winner at the 6th Annual PRAU Excellence Awards. The agency scooped three accolades including; Best PR Agency, Best Crisis Management, Best Event for campaigns conceptualised and executed for Crown Beverages Limited (Pepsi) and Vodafone Uganda. “We wish participants at this year’s awards success and commend the organisers for the different awards for their contribution to the growth of our industry,” Wafula added.
