Huawei made a bold statement to their competitors in the SmartPhone market with their latest release, the Huawei P9.
The sleek beast with an all metal uni-body design,is a paltry 6mm thick and weighs about 144 grams. The P9 is one of the lightest phones in the market and great to handle with less stress on your hands.
The camera quality on the Huawei P9 is outstanding. Individuals that have used the Blackberry Passport to take pictures will appreciate the great difference upon using the P9’s camera. There is a sharp contrast in picture quality. The shots are brighter even in low light and are crystal sharp with clarity. The dual-camera has two sensors, one of which is coloured while the other is black and white getting, presenting sharper pictures than the Blackberry Passport would.

With the P9 you get a 5.2 Inch multi-touch display with screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 Pixels. It is protected by corning Gorilla Glass 4 which means your phone screen will always be protected from normal scratches and accidental falls. The screen display is bright and works well indoors and outdoors at great viewing angles.
The navigational home button is an interesting feature, as well as all the buttons are now touch-sensitive on the screen.
The Huawei P9 also has a sim tray which accommodates Nano sim and micro SD, which appeals to those who prefer to use varying sim options. The bottom placement of the phone features a headphone jack, USB type C charging pot and the speaker grill, all in one location.
The back of the phone is all made of Aluminum, which sits the dual Leica camera with its LED flash and finger print reader.
The operating system supported is Android, a welcome feature for users to easily operate and download their favourite apps and games from the Google Play Store. Generally, Android Apps are the most readily available on the market in comparison with iOS, Windows Phone and Blackberry OS.
With regards to daily performance, the Huawei P9 is an absolute dream for anyone looking for speed and smoothness in their smart phone. For instance, while playing 3D games, the P9 is just flawless and the graphics are great. You can browse effortlessly using WI-FI internet connection and the phone performance is impressive. You can watch YouTube videos and movies with some serious picture quality.
Playing music from the P9 is beautiful, with minimal volume levels that make the whole experience relaxing. Overall the P9 is a great phone for entertainment.
Receiving phone calls on mobile networks is great too. Various network lines (MTN, Airtel and Africell) were tried out and the connection was perfect with no call dropping. The call quality was also very clear.
One shortcoming however is the lack of an in-built radio. This will deter some radio loyalists.
[related_posts]The finger print reader on the P9 is very good, continuing an upward trend from the one on the Mate8 which was also fantastic. I actually tried to wake the phone just by touching the reader, and it triggered the shatter of the camera to take a picture and I was able to scroll through the pictures in the gallery. You can use the finger print scanner to answer calls.
When the battery is fully charged, users can browse and the battery power will be conserved. However, when listening to music, playing 3D games and watching YouTube videos, the battery will last a paltry 8 hours. However, with the battery monitor on the Huawei P9, users are able to monitor the battery’s performance and usage.
In summary, the Huawei P9 is parked with so much specs with very many merits, and going for UGX 2,000,000/=.
