Danish based Ugandan musician, Joanita Zachariassen captures Uganda’s entertainment industry with her latest hit ‘Kyoyagala’.
Featuring Klear Kut’s The Mith Mayanja, Ugandans got to listen to the song for the first time last week when it premiered on NTV the Beat.
Produced, shot and mastered by Papashotit in Uganda, the song has won Joanita a huge fan base in Uganda.
A small woman with a big voice, Joanita, an artist full of life, energy and love, Joanita was born in Uganda and has a Christian background.
A Singer-songwriter and gospel/pop/soul/afrobeat Artist, Joanita holds an Academy from “Complete Vocal Institute” music school in Denmark and has work in the music industry for 18 years, holding great concerts over the years.
She released her first Album in 2006
Produced in Uganda by Steve Jean featuring Ugandans finest Artists such as Navio and Mr. Mosh.
Joanita has in the last 18 years been working on her solo career, and in 2006 she released her first solo album (soul/pop/reggae) named “Kept me going.”
In 2009 starred Joanita in “Talent Show 09” and the same year she starred in a “Climate service ” in Copenhagen’s cathedral, where she sang for over 2000 people – including several heads of state, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik.
In 2013 Joanita won the Integration Award for her work as an African artist for her music as a voice of change in Denmark.
Joanita has appeared along with the late gospel star Etta Cameron and warmed up for Don Moen and Alvin Slaughter, who is the US large Gospel Artists and she has appeared in “X-Factor 2008 ‘as a backup singer for the group” Alien beat club “.
In 2016 Joanita performed for well known Nelson Mandela’s daughter (Zindzi mandela) at a refugee concert.
Joanita has also worked and sang with Emmelie de Forest Eurovision Song Contest winner of 2013.

This International Award Show was held in Stockholm Saturday 1st of October 2016 with talented nominees of African heritage from all over Europe together with nominees from various African countries.
Last year, Joanita embarked on expanding her music career in east Africa, Uganda and Tanzania and Kenya.
She has released a few singles featuring big artists such as, The Mith, Barnaba Classic from Uganda and Tanzania and many more countries to come.
Joanita is now in a music promotion tour in Uganda promoting her newest singles.
