Even as the sun
Fades into the Eucalyptus,
Even when the petals fall
Off the last hibiscus
To roll amongst pebbles
In the sparkling Nile
Even as the last thunders
Fade through the night sky
My heart will throb in song,
To the beat of melodies
By swallows beyond my gaze
Even if the stars twinkle lightless
As the trees shed their leaves,
Mine will bloom
My love has stuck.
When the lost plane takes off
It will not take this hunger
Through the holes in my pockets
To the dust on my shoes.
As we rolled to music that existed
Only in our ears
I remember ripping that veil
From off your face
While doves flew above
Your swaying blue eyes
From side to side dripping with joy
Holding onto the notion
That nothing is impossible
Yet searching for answers
To encourage even the worst,
Firmer than my grip on the winds
At least I knew this one thing,
You had me,

But sleep fled with the fastest horse
Defied my whims to attain independence
It then stood over there
Gloating like a fishmonger
Just to say,
It was an ant swimming in the Ocean.
